We welcomed all the children back to school for the start of the new school term two weeks ago and we have already been so busy! Acorns have started our new topic entitled 'Where does snow go?' We have already created our own wintery pictures using powder paints and pastels, explored how animals keep themselves safe and warm in the winter and we have even been writing sentences to describe our snow dwelling animals. In our literacy lessons we have continued to think about features of a sentence and we've been making predictions about what happens next in different stories. In our maths lessons we have been looking at numbers and counting in tens. In phonics we have continued to learn new sounds and we now all know sounds and actions for w, v, y, z, zz, j and qu. Hopefully you have all been able to log in to bug club without any issues and are enjoying sharing these stories with your child at home too. This term the children are all participating in gymnastics lessons with Tom from Springers, all the children have enjoyed these lessons. This week we are going to be thinking about birds in the winter and how we can help them to survive in the cold weather. We look forward to seeing you at the Writing Workshop this week too.
