Another busy couple of weeks have passed and the Acorns have continued to impress us with their love for learning. In maths they have been learning how to tell the time for o'clock and half past, compare weights using balancing scales and learning the names of 3D shapes. In phonics they have begun to put their knowledge of sounds together in writing cvc words and in literacy extending this to look at sentence formation. As part of our whole school remembrance service at the local war memorial, Acorns all made their own poppies to wear and during the understanding the world lesson explored what the day represented. Acorns have also been continuing to practise for this year's Christmas nativity, learning songs, actions and staging! Finally, this week finished with Children in Need day, Acorns were busy in the morning making their own smartie biscuits ready to sell and raise money in the afternoon, our attached governor came to support them in their baking and was impressed with their teamwork. Please see our latest news section to find out more about the range of activities all the children completed as part of the day.
