Firstly, I would like to start by thanking you for your overwhelmingly positive comments on parents evening about how happy your child is at school and how pleased you are with their progress. Mrs Fuller and I are both very impressed with the attitude towards learning of the class and it is lovely to hear all the happy stories they are taking home most days. This week was as busy as usual with the added inclusion of a trip to the woods and running a mile on Friday to raise money for Sport Relief! The children had a great time up at the woods and enjoyed collecting their reminders of their journey on their sticky strips. In our literacy lessons this week we explored 'The Jolly Postman' and wrote our own sentences about who we would give a letter to and what it would say. In maths lessons we have been collecting data using tally marks and we even looked at how to create a pictogram. On Friday afternoon we all went out on the field to watch the marathon club children finish their ultra-martahon and celebrate as a whole school, then we all joined in with smiles on our faces as we ran our own mile! We were all really impressed with the children's willingness and glad they all ran with smiles on their faces even towards the end of the mile, well done Acorns!
