This week the children in Acorns had a special visit from our link governor Mr Leeming, he stayed with the class for the whole of Wednesday morning and the children enjoyed sharing their learning with him and explaining some of the things we do such as our challenge books. All the children have earned at least two stickers for their Mini Me's as a result of all their hard work on their challenge books and their home learning logs. In phonics this week we learnt the sounds 'h', 'r' and 'u'. In our sharing assembly on Friday the whole class shared their excellent phonics skills by showing all the actions and sounds taught so far and some children shared their writing. We have continued with our Christmas Nativity songs adding actions to some and next week we will be giving parts to the children. Finally this week the children have also learnt about maps and each created their own map to show us how to get from one place to another.
