The first four days of the summer term have gone extremely fast in Acorns. We have started the first of our new topics for this half term called 'Can we explore it?' the children have started to look at maps and explore different countries. In our maths lessons we started to look at pictograms and understanding how we can collect data and show it in different ways. We also looked at tally marks and what each line represents, we enjoyed asking each other questions and collecting the data. In literacy we shared a book titled 'Where the Wild Things Are' written and illustrated by Maurice Sendak. We thought the Wild Things were scary at first but then realised they wanted the little boy in the story to be their friend and King! In our art lessons we were busy exploring how to make different textures in paint, this helped us to paint our Wild Things characters ready for our display. Next week is sure to be just as busy as we continue to explore new things.
