This week Acorns have continued to learn about dinosaurs through different areas of the curriculum. We have been finding out about the skeleton and why a skeleton is important, then we looked at how dinosaur and human skeletons are different. Following this we made pictures of dinosaur skeletons using pasta or art straws. In ICT the children have been exploring 2paint and made some brilliant pictures using their new skills. They have also been learning how to make and interpret pictograms on the laptops. In our maths lessons this week we have been measuring dinosaur bones and body lengths. We have looked at when to use a ruler and when we might need something bigger, we decided to use the trundle wheel to measure the Diplodocus who was 28m long! In literacy we made up our own dinosaur and wrote sentences about them using capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. In our PSED lessons this week the children practised laying the table and talked about how we can help at home! Another busy week with lots of the children returning tonight to play Bingo, something we were very excited about.
