We finished this half term by saying goodbye to our ducklings on Friday morning. They have gone to a farm in Canterbury with another group of ducklings who had been hatched in a school similarly to ours. The people who collected the ducklings were really impressed with the children's writing about them and even took photos of our display. Our broad beans had grown past the castles and are hopefully now continuing to grow at home. In our maths lessons in the final week of term we developed our understanding and ability to estimate, something which is quite tricky to do. In phonics we continued to consolidate our knowledge of the Phase 3 sounds, both reading and writing them. After half term we will be moving on to some new sounds. We also continued to develop our understanding of how people help us, we have asked questions and thought carefully about things we can do to help others. After half term we will be beginning to take part in transitional work with Oaks to help the children settle quickly in September.
