Friday 29th April

This past week Acorns have continued to focus on dinosaurs, we made dinosaur footprints outside in the area and decided that metre sticks would be the best thing to measure them with, as some were very big! In art this week we looked at how to use watercolour paints and then we had a try at making our own dinosaur silhouettes, this was a bit tricky. On the laptops this week we have continued to learn how to navigate our way to certain programmes and this week we used 2type, this helped us to recognise where the keys are on the keyboard and how to recognise capital and lower case letters. We have been very busy doing lots of writing this week and not just in our literacy lessons, our handwriting is getting much neater and we are getting better at remembering to use the features of a sentence. In our maths lessons we looked at more and less and practised our counting to check, we also had a quick look at telling the time for o'clock and half past times! In sharing assembly on Friday we all showed our ball skills and looked at how we developed our skills over the last few weeks. On Tuesday, our first day back after the long weekend we will be going on a bug hunt with Oaks, fingers crossed the sun comes out for us!
