This week we saw some glimpses of spring and we have been keeping an eye out for signs of spring in our outside area. Unfortunately, we also saw lots of wind and rain which has left us needing some small repairs to our outdoor equipment but the children were keen to help us come up with lots of ideas to make it stronger for the future! On Tuesday it was pancake day and all the children in the class got to flip a pancake, taste a pancake (if they wanted) and helped to wash up, it was this last point which seemed to intrigue them the most! During the week we looked at a book called Mr Wolf's Pancakes, the characters in the book definitely didn't show our school values and didn't want to help Mr Wolf at all in the making process, this was the inspiration for our writing. You will be able to see a display in our classroom soon! In maths this week we have been looking at time, all the children are able to tell the time for o'clock and some of them were beginning to know half past and even looked at quarter past and quarter to! On Thursday we all came to school in our pyjamas and had the opportunity to move around the school sharing our favourite stories with other children from each class, this was the highlight of the week for many children in Acorns. It was lovely to see them confident to talk to the older children and share their stories together.
