The first week back after half term saw some changes to our daily routine, starting with how the children enter the school. The Acorns all came in through the same entrance as the other children in the school and showed their growing independence by completing all their morning jobs having said goodbye to parents outside. This new routine has helped any children who were finding the initial separation from parents tricky. During the week we have continued to learn our phase 2 sounds and continued to practice blending and segmenting. In maths we were identifying more and less and checked our answers by counting the objects. As part of our new topic finding out if dragons really exist we have been looking at the similarities and differences between our homes and castles. Next week we will be walking down to the war memorial as we begin to develop an understanding of Armistice Day and why we think it is important to remember.
