What a busy week this week has been! We have walked up to our local church twice, on Monday we went up to see what the church is like and to find out about some of it's special features and then this morning we went up again for our Harvest festival. The children sat brilliantly in the church for the whole service and enjoyed singing 'Dingle Dangle Scarecrow' for everyone. In literacy this week we have learnt the story of The Little Red Hen and we have also looked at the differences between fiction and non-fiction books. In maths we have been practising our understanding of positional language and we also learnt the days of the week. On Thursday afternoon the children went on a nature hunt with Mrs Hyman and then made their own leaf puppets. Next week we are going to be using The Little Red Hen story to inspire us with some baking!
