Bug Club and homework

In school we are enjoying reading books online through a website called Bug Club. It would be great if your child could also access their Bug Clubs books at home as another way of encouraging reading. The children are familiar with their username and password as these have been updated where necessary. The details are also stuck in the front of your child's reading record.

A maths homework task was sent out in homework books last Thursday. It is due in on Wednesday 21st September. The tasks should be completed on the following blank pages of the homework book rather than on the sheet. A grid outlining non-compulsory topic-related tasks has also been stuck near the front of the book.

Spelling words are being sent home in a red book - this book is NOT for practicing the words in. The book MUST be returned to school every Monday when the spellings will be tested and new words given.

Finally, hopefully you are aware that your child's times table test, completed every Friday, is being sent home to keep you updated on their progress. Children record how long it takes them to complete the test. For a child to be secure with a multiplication table, he/she should get most of the calculations correct and complete the test in less than 5 minutes. Times tables are learned in the following order: 2, 5, 10, 3, 4, 8, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12.
