Happy new year!

Happy new year! I look forward to welcoming you and your children back to school on Tuesday. We will begin the year by learning about rivers in a topic called Flow. During the first week back we will be looking at water samples taken from a local river. If you have any glass jars, clean with lids but preferably without labels, that your child could bring into school it would be much appreciated. For more information on what we will be covering in Cedars this half term, take a look at the class newsletter (published next week) and keep checking this blog.

A note about times tables:

When learning times tables it is essential that all of the tables learned so far are continuously revisited and revised. To aid children with this, the weekly tests will consist of a mixture of questions, covering all of the tables that your child has learned. It is the National Curriculum expectation that children in year three are able to recall and use the 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x and 8x tables whilst year four children are able to recall and use all tables up to the 12s.
