Herrings Green Farm trip

posted 6 Oct 2017, 00:25 by Anna Rust
We had a fantastic day on our class trip last week to Herrings Green Farm and Bird of Prey Centre.
After the excitement of the coach journey, we met the falconers and had an important safety talk. After that, we had the chance to hold a couple of the owls called Oscar and Simba. Then we watched a flying display and were amazed at the speed and size of some of the birds. Before lunch, we also had a tour of the centre and managed to see many of the owls and eagles in their cages. We learned some fascinating facts. After lunch, we played on some of the tyres and then had the amazing opportunity of flying an owl. We stood in a line with a glove on and the owl landed on each of our arms in turn. To finish off the day, we were introduced to the critters and farmyard animals. These ranged from small and spiky like the bearded dragon to large and fluffy like the ponies.
