The Ancient Greeks

posted 13 Apr 2018, 08:42 by Anna Rust
Cedars have had a very busy this week. We have begun learning about the Ancient Greeks. We started the topic on Monday by tasting typical Greek foods. The children were very brave and tried some foods which they perhaps wouldn't usually eat. Our favourite food was grapes and the least popular foods were olives, feta cheese and Greek yogurt. After the food tasting, we created bar charts to show the data. We have also enjoyed finding out about sport in Ancient Greece, particularly the Olympics. In addition, we have researched clothing and have remembered lots of interesting facts. Today we designed a toga pin and next week we will paint them.
Yesterday we were very lucky to have two visitors from Santander who talked to us about being moneywise. We learnt lots from the session including how to create secure passwords and the different ways to pay for items.
Your child has been given a new homework grid and spellings for this week. Both of the tasks need to be completed by Monday, thank you.
