Tremors

We've had a busy few weeks! We started our topic by learning about volcanoes. On the first day back we talked about the different types of volcanoes and then made our own in groups using newspaper and paint. At the end of the day, the volcanoes erupted! We also located volcanoes on a world map with the help of digital maps and we created some fantastic volcano themed artwork - a lot of paint splattering was involved!

Part of the topic is about rocks. Last week we went on a walk round the village and Bow Brickhill woods. We noticed lots of things made from stone and we collected a rock each to bring back to school. After the walk, we wrote a recount of our journey. We also learned about the layers of the earth and we created models to show our learning.

This term we have been learning how to multiply and divide numbers using a written method. We will soon apply our learning to fractions. Today we put our maths learning to good use when baking cakes to raise money for the 'Mad about Harry' appeal.
