Trip to Woburn Sands

posted 4 Oct 2018, 14:11 by Anna Rust   [ updated 4 Oct 2018, 14:12 ]
On Monday we went to the park in Woburn Sands to learn about forces. We caught the train from Bow Brickhill station. We all had a great time. The trip will be the basis for our learning this week and next. We will be writing a recount of our experience and analysing the park by considering the forces involving when using the play equipment.

We have completed lots of science investigations recently. We chose to investigate whether magnets are more powerful in water or air - the children loved investigating this and we managed to not get everything completely soaked! We have also investigated how much force is needed to move objects along different surfaces.

In maths we have done lots of counting. We have practised counting in multiples of 25, 50, 100 and 1000. We then applied our learning to thinking about numbers on a number line. Tomorrow we are moving on to finding 10, 100 and 1000 more and less than a given number.

Next Friday (12th October) will be our Harvest Festival assembly. We are working hard to learn hymns and poems which will be performed at church. We would be delighted if you could attend the service.
