Blood Heart

Our new topic for this half term is Blood Heart.  We kicked off our topic by asking the children to come to school dressed as medical professionals; we had a huge variety of medics in school for the day, physiotherapists, surgeons, audiologists, MRI technicians, X-ray technicians etc.

We have started learning all about how our body works, specifically looking at the organs in our body and the role they play and investigating what our blood is made of and how it is moved around our body.  We will also be dissecting a heart to look in more depth at the function of this very important organ.

We will then go on to investigate the life of Marie Curie, a very important scientist, who developed X-ray machines and was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize.

The children are very engaged in this exciting topic - you never know, we may be developing the surgeons of the future !
