Co-ordinates and Maps...

Continuing the work we started last week, we have done lots of work based on co-ordinates, both in numeracy and geography.  In numeracy we have been looking at translating shapes through the use of co-ordinates and have moved on to look at reflecting shapes using a co-ordinate grid.  The whole class did very well with this Year 6 activity.
Using an extract of an OS map of an area of Milton Keynes and surrounding villages, we have also looked at finding items/places of interest etc using OS symbols and co-ordinates, reinforcing our numeracy work on co-ordinates and showing how they can be used in real life.
This weeks Rounders game was enjoyed in the Spring sunshine mixed in with a bit of hail/snow !  Another a huge improvement in their game play this week.
