Half Term Update

posted 21 Feb 2015, 08:42 by A West
We had a great half term learning all about our planet's coldest lands and how life survives in such hostile territories. The children produced some exceptional clay models of Arctic animals and explored the simplistic style found in a range of Inuit Art. They also wrote some inspiring Haiku poems  about the Northern Lights.

The class were very impressive on our Geocaching missions in the woods and found a total of 3 Geocaches, along with a number of survival kits needed for our overnight stay in school, which was one of the term's highlights!

We have had our first two class assemblies, planned and run by small groups of children, which explore our school's values. Each child has been assigned a group and will run an assembly before Easter. The assemblies last about 5 minutes and have included examples of how to show the chosen value, songs and quizzes. They take place every Wednesday morning.

We have another exciting half term ahead of us. The class will be learning all about space, including a trip to Leicester Space Centre on Wednesday 11th March. (Letters to be sent home shortly).
