Maples have transported themselves to the land of Mexico this half term - studying the land, its culture, food and festivals. We have made and tasted a range of Mexican food - salsa, guacamole, Mexican potatoes and tortilla chips which the whole class enjoyed. A further treat was a visit by Joshua's Snow Leopard Gecko, which gave all the children an idea of what a lizard (or lizard like creature) would feel and look like. This followed on from the work we had been doing looking at the Yellow Spotted Lizard, a native of Mexico, which also features heavily in our novel for this term, Louis Sachar's Holes. |
