This week finished with a very busy Friday where the children spent most of the day in their mixed house groups. The day started with an assembly by Mrs Lowe explaining the purpose of Comic Relief, showing how our money helps and teaching the children the chosen comic relief song. After this the children went to their house groups to each complete one task. One house did a rap, one a dance, another house did a growing art project and the final house put together a comic relief news broadcast. The videos of their final performances will be available on the latest news section of our website soon. In the afternoon after each group had shown their mornings work everyone went onto the field so see the marathon runners complete their runs, followed by the whole school completing their own mile. A very busy Friday! During the rest of the week Oaks have been busy making structures and writing instructions about them, understanding multiplication and finding out about The Great Escape in WW2. They also made maps to show the journey they went on last Friday. Oaks had one extra special task this week, creating Mother's Day Cards! They were very busy sewing and aside from one card which was attached to a sock and a handful of cards which needed a 'few' alterations the whole class produced lovely independently created cards.
