This week has seen Oaks learn all about a new maths initiative called the 'Singapore Bar Method' which the school is adopting to help raise our maths levels. The children have enjoyed learning how to use this to help them solve mathematical problems. In our literacy lessons this week the children have written a letter of application to be a superhero or a villains sidekick, they had to think of why they would be good in that role. We also introduced guided reading to the class this week, all the children really enjoyed reading in small groups with an adult and we were very impressed with how well they responded to this session.
