In this final week of the Autumn term, Oaks have been busy making Christmas cards and performing their Christmas play with Cedars to the rest of the school and parents. They also then finished the week with a visit from Santa and a trip up to the church. All the staff were very proud of the children for the Christmas play, the dress rehearsal Monday was a big test for them but they worked extremely hard Tuesday morning so that the play was fantastic for parents in the afternoon and on the Wednesday. The singing from all children was great and every single child knew their lines and said them in big clear voices! In Science they made melted snowman biscuits using their knowledge of heating ingredients. On Thursday we were lucky to have Santa visit us in the morning, he gave presents to everyone and answered lots of questions, all this before the children enjoyed their special Christmas lunch and then had a party in the afternoon. Friday morning saw the whole school walk up to All Saint's Church to sing lots of Christmas Carols that they have been learning with Mrs Lowe, the behaviour in the church was brilliant and it was lovely to see so many parents there too. Thank you so much to everybody who sent in cards and gifts for myself or Mrs Doolan, it has been a very busy but great first term and we both would like to wish all the children a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
