In what has been a very cold and icy week Oaks continued to discover more about life at the seaside and in particular what happens in rock pools. In their science lessons the children were looking at the different creatures who might live in a rock pool and creating their own rock pool features such as seaweed. The results of these lessons can be seen on the display just inside the door the children enter and exit the school via. In ICT they have continued to think about how to make fonts stand out as they created labels for the previously mentioned display. In literacy this week the children created a story map and then wrote a story about their chosen character. At the end of the week the children then marked their own work with a partner, identifying the best parts and the parts that could be improved, for a first attempt they did really well! In maths Oaks have been learning how to partition numbers focusing on place value and then moving onto subtraction from two and three digit numbers. Next week the children will be sewing!
