This week Oaks have been busy doing lots of different things, ranging from poetry to sewing! On Monday the children continued with their cricket lessons developing their teamwork skills and their control of the ball. In their maths lessons this week Oaks have been learning how to order numbers and how to round to the nearest ten, something they all worked really hard to learn quickly. In literacy the children have been looking at messages in bottles and how they can be used. In music Oaks learnt some seaside songs linked to the topic of beachcombers (even though there was snow on the ground outside!). On Friday in sharing assembly the class performed one of the poems they had learnt with Mrs Dervish called 'The Cat's Party' and in the afternoon the children began sewing a creature that might be found near the seaside, this is something that will be continued with this coming week. I would like to say a big thank you to you the parents, for the support provided to the children with their homework project over the last fortnight. Some of the models that came in were fantastic and the children have all been keen to share facts they found out for their fact files.
