The first week of December has already been and gone! Oaks have really enjoyed this week, setting up their classroom as a 'Winter Wonderland' ready for the Christmas Bazaar on Friday. They have all been busy helping us to create 3D snowflakes which were hung along the beams in the classroom. On Tuesday afternoon with Mrs McBurnie the children created two giant Christmas tree pictures. One in the style of Kandinsky using lots of circles and another using pointillism. These looked great in the classroom and I was really impressed with the outcome. The children have also been encouraged to think about how they can use various media to create other winter themed pictures. Some children created pictures using the hama beads, some created finger print pictures and some children used brightly coloured chalks on black paper to recreate some Christmas lights. The foodscape pictures that the children created for their homework looked amazing, so thank you for all your hard work creating those! Next week will be heavily nativity play focused ready for our performances the following week.
