As you can see from the photos Oaks spent the first part of this week out exploring the snow. The children worked together to roll giant snowballs to use in their snowman building. Some children wanted to make smaller snowmen and used conkers they found for eyes. It was lovely to see the children having fun and working together even if it did take a while to warm up once they were back inside! In their literacy lessons this week the children have been doing lots of creative writing using some fantastic descriptions and really using their imaginations. In maths Oaks have been exploring 3D shapes and on Friday practiced reading the time on an analogue clock and measuring time using the stopwatches. This week Oaks were set the challenge of designing their own creature that could live in a rock pool, they designed their creature and named it, then they made it using playdough, they then worked in groups to create a rock pool diorama and placed their creature in there. Finally, they wrote a fact file about their creature. Next week the class are going to work together to produce their own information book!
