It was great to see all the children back this week excited with their stories about the Christmas holidays. It sounds as though they were all very busy! This half term our class topic is called Beachcombers, this week we started to look at the geographical features of seasides, the children were all really good at identifying which features were human and which were physical. The class were really interested in looking at images of seasides and when we used a 'Magic Grandad' video to compare seasides from 100 years ago to today they particularly highlighted how the people were all 'posh' speaking! We have also made our own 3D features to go on a map of the Isle of Struay from the popular Katie Morag stories. In our maths lessons this week we have been solving problems in groups, some of the tasks required lots of patience but the children worked well together to be successful. In their Science lessons the children have been exploring habitats they can find in our local area and looking at how these are different to seaside habitats. Next week we will be looking at shells and things we might find in a rock pool.
