Maples topic this term is Parliament and Democracy.  As part of our topic, the class has been turned into the Houses of Maples, with class members split between the two parties.  The classroom has been laid out to represent the Houses of Parliament with the opposing parties sat on either side of the classroom.

We have also been very privileged to have a visit from our local MP, Mr Iain Stewart, who visited us on Monday 4th February to meet the members of our two parties and to talk to us about his job.  Our Chair of Governors, Mr Mike Hallett, also joined us for the visit.

Maples thoroughly enjoyed the visit and asked some very sensible questions, all of which Mr Stewart was very happy to answer.  Maybe we've got some budding politicians in our school ......
