Remembrance Day

On the 11th of November 2016 at 11a.m, the whole school went to the War Memorial which is a short walk away from school.  Mr Leeming, one of the school governors, spoke about the local residents who lost their lives during World War One and Two.  Some Year 6 pupils, Kornelia, Presley, Lydia and Isaac, read poems of remembrance after which our Head Boy and Head Girl (Charlie and Olivia) laid a wreath of dark red Poppies to represent the blood, battleground and time of those who lost their lives. We all tried to reflect upon those who fought in World War One, World War Two and any wars before or after that. We had a minute’s silence in honour of those who died and were encouraged to look at the names of those who served from the parish.
