Young Leaders in School

Thank you for your fantastic attendance at our first two sharing assemblies of the year, it was great to see so many of you there and an extra thank you if you signed our book too! At these assemblies we were able to award the badges to all the children who have been given a pupil leadership role in the school. We now have our school council, made up of a girl and a boy from each year group. These roles are awarded following a vote within the class, the children who would like to be on the school council share with the class why they would be a good choice and then all the children vote. The school council will be an important link between their peers and the teachers, sharing ideas and thoughts of ways to improve the school. We were also able to award each Year 6 child with an individual role in the school ranging from Head Gardener, to Librarian and of course our Head Boy and Head Girl. Displays in school are there to remind all children in the school who has which role and each of these children also has a badge to represent their role. Finally we were also able to name our house captains, this year we have changed how the house system will work. A letter will be sent out shortly to explain how we have developed this system. Well done to all the children who are part of our pupil leadership team and to everyone for being proud of their peers for achieving their respective roles in the school.
